OUR STORY
The Italian Bowl is a bustling and energetic Italian Restaurant situated right in the heart of Newtown. It was established in 2005 by Italian born Vince, and his son in law Alexi along their wives, who wanted to create fast, fun and fresh Italian cuisine.
The concept of choosing your own pasta shape, protein and sauce was a hit right from the beginning and they quickly became a local favourite, making them a must-stop for anyone visiting the vibrant suburb of Newtown. The open plan kitchen with diner style bar seating was a big part of the appeal, allowing customers to see their food being freshly cooked right before their eyes by the skilled and often boisterous chefs, bringing the customers right into the action of a real bustling kitchen.
In 2016, The Italian Bowl expanded into the next-door premises, doubling its capacity to 90 seats, which is consistently full of happy diners, soaking up the buzzing atmosphere night after night, with lines often stretching down the street full of eager customers keen to get their taste of authentic Italian pasta.
The restaurant continues to thrive, even through the pandemic, and is now run by 3 generations of family, along with some very dedicated and long serving staff. It’s considered by locals and loyal customers from all over Sydney as an iconic institution, second to none. Its owners greatly appreciate the support shown by everyone and are more than happy to continually give back to the community.
